Welsh Independent Retailer of Year

Staff at Caboodles of Abergavenny were celebrating recently when they were named Welsh Independent Retailer of Year by Progressive Gifts and Homes, a leading trade magazine. And the reason for their gong comes as no surprise. Alex and her friendly team offer customers a personalised service. They will find jewellery, gifts and cards – from Lola Rose pendants to organic toiletries – for you and even call you when your favourite item comes in.

Trio think pink for charity

Alex Edwards and her team are raring to go as they prepare for the annual In The Pink sponsored walk.

Ms Edwards, the owner of town centre store Caboodles, and a former president of Abergavenny Chamber of Trade, is taking part in the 12-mile walk, which raises money for the cancer charity In The Pink.

The event, from Brecon to Llangynidr, takes place on Sunday.

It will be the third year that the 36-year-old businesswoman has taken part. She said: "My grandmother had breast cancer when I was young, she survived and fought hard all the way. It's people like her and the organiser of the event, Liz Sullivan, that really inspire me.

"It's always great fun and is for such a good cause." Ms Edwards and her group have already been taking walks together in preparation and will be wearing custom made T-shirts sporting the In The Pink logo.

She said: "We're really looking forward to it now. We will just go for it on the day and have fun. It's going to be fabulous."

If you would like to sponsor her and the team, go to Caboodles in Abergavenny town centre.
